When it comes to Sony PSP game downloads there are certain things which will need to be taken into consideration to ensure that you get the best out of the games that you have chosen to download on to yours. In this article we will provide you with some useful guidelines which will help to ensure that you get the best possible when you start to do PSP game downloads on to yours. If you can along with buying your PSP it may be wise to purchase a memory stick at the same time. Doing this you will then be able to keep all the files that you download in one place, plus if you want you can also transfer them over to your PC or laptop so that they can be safely stored away and retrieved when required. For someone who is going to be playing a large number of games on their PSP (which is what it was designed for) then they need to get a memory stick with a large memory base. One particular good memory stick which is compatible with the PSP is called the Pro Duo Card. When it comes to actually downloading games on to your PSP you have two choices available to you. You either download them directly on to it or else you can download them on to your PC or Laptop before transferring them over to your PSP. Preferably I would use the latter method then you can keep a copy on your PC just in case something happens to your PSP. But before doing this you need to know exactly what type of firmware (operating system) you have on your PSP so that you have the right software installed on your PC and which will allow you to then transfer games from one to the other. Also the games you choose to download should also be compatible with the firmware on your PSP or they will not work. As you start to look for games to download before you actually start downloading any you need to check the file name. Only those files which end with "PSP" are the ones that you should be looking to download as they are compatible with your console. This is extremely important to remember because the vast majority of download sites do not actually cater solely to one console but there are some do such as PSP Blender. Plus you will soon discover that a lot of the games available for the PSP have also been compressed so you will need some sort of compression application in order to uncompress them. For Mac computers you will use something like Expander whilst for PC's which are running Windows then WinZip is often the most favored of all compression applications available. After the files have been unzipped inside you will find a folder that contains two files. The first file is the one which you need to install on to your PSP as this is the one that contains the games information and which is the one you will use to play the game with. The other folder has come from the developer of the game and is known as the "read me" file. The next step in order to get the Sony PSP game downloads off of your PC on to your PSP is by connecting the two together. This can be done through connecting the two together using a USB cable. On your PSP you will need to press the home button and then go to the settings feature. Once in the settings menu using the controls on your PSP you need to move down the area on the screen that says "USB Connection" and then press the "X" on your PSP. As soon as this has been done the memory stick inside the PSP connects to your PC and now all that needs to be done is the file in question has to be copied from one to the other. Also when you are doing any PSP game downloads or any other kind of PSP downloads it is important to remember to put them in the folder on your memory stick called "PSP>Game" or "PSP>Movie" or you may find that they do not work correctly.
