It's no mystery that the Nintendo Wii has been selling like mad - it's one hot system! With so many new users, we seem to be getting a good number of emails from people wondering if there is a way to copy Wii games. With this is mind, we decided to throw together a quick guide showing you how to do this. Almost everyone with a computer has used their burner their burner before. "Ripping" music CDs is extremely common - there's a good chance you have done this before. However, you can't use the same software that you use to burn a music cd to make a copy of a video game. Why is this? Nintendo Wii games use a type of 'copyright protection' on them (as do all video games) which blocks your computer from being able to recognize or "make sense" of what is on the disc. Because your computer can't read the disc, it isn't able to know what it is supposed to be copying. When there's a problem, someone's going to find a solution! That's exactly what certain software companies have done - there are now programs that are able to "punch-out" the guards on video games. When you install this software, your computer is able to read the data that is on video game discs. One quick point - these programs can copy xbox 360, PS3 and any other video games that are on discs. It's not only for making Wii game copies. If you want to try a risk-free trial for this type of program you can use the link at the bottom of this article. Although the technology behind these programs is complex, using the program is a snap. You just put the Wii game into your disk drive, let your computer make an "image" of it, and then insert a blank CD-R or DVD-R that your computer than copies the image onto. It's a great feeling to be able to copy Wii games using your computer and your burner. This gives you a way to backup all of your existing games and make copie of any other Wii game you pick up. Enjoy!
