Creating a newsletter has many, many advantages. You'll be able to follow-up on current customers but also get potential customers interested and kick them off the fence. So in other words, it promotes your business and help you sell more and more products because of the trust relation you are building up. What to write about? You ultimate purpose is to create customers. And truck loads of them! It's a simple fact, but very true. You shouldn't write boring stuff. You should write entertaining but informative. And no informative does not mean boring at all. And it doesn't mean you should use hype, either. Just add a sprinkle of your own personality to it. Do you sell your own products? Keep them updates about discounts, free offers, a new product or whatever new thing you are coming out with. Anything to keep them interested is advised. The newsletter itself What about it? It's simple: Do not spam as people will hate you. For instance using html messages is, in my opinion, a big no, no. Also be consistent in sending your newsletter. If you decided to do it every single week do it every single week. In this way they know when to expect your newsletter and it will give a boost to your response and read rate. Never ever forget to add a unsubscribe link at the bottom of your emails. If they don't like your newsletter, let them op out of it. Don't stress about it. This will save you a lot of spam complaints. How can I attract readers? Now that's a good one. If you initially set everything up, you want to have readers to actually read your messages. But how? The simplest yet most effective way is advertising in ezines. How is this possible? This is how: You simply spend some money, and you can either get a solo, classified, top or bottom sponsor ad. I would try to go for a solo ad as much as possible. Do contact the list owners first. You want to be sure your ad gets placed. Ask them any question. The owners of these lists usually took a lot of time and effort building and maintaining those subscribers. And they allow you, for a small fee, to tap into that list. It will help you focus on more important stuff like creating content for your newsletter. A word of advise: Be independent and really build your list with those visitors. It's really a waste of traffic to send them to somebody else's list and leave LOTS of profits on the table. When it's sent, make sure you keep on checking your statistics. After all, you want to know which ezine is the winner and which not right? Then you know exactly which ezines to focus on in the end.
